Pride Fund Makes Record Number of Endorsements in CA, MA, NH, NJ, WI

Pride Fund Endorses Maggie Hassan for Senate, Josh Gottheimer, Seth Moulton, Khary Penebaker and Scott Peters for House

WASHINGTON, DC, SEPTEMBER 20, 2016 -- Pride Fund to End Gun Violence PAC – America’s only LGBTQ organization solely focused on gun violence prevention – today announced five new endorsements in Senate and House races across the country: Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire's Senate race, Josh Gottheimer in New Jersey’s 5th congressional district, Congressman Seth Moulton in Massachusetts’s 6th, Khary Penebaker in Wisconsin’s 5th and Congressman Scott Peters in California’s 52nd.

“We support Hassan, Gottheimer, Moulton, Penebaker and Peters as candidates because of their demonstrated commitment to the shared ideals of so many Americans: equality for all citizens and a work ethic that values the voices of constituents over manipulation by the gun lobby,” said Jason Lindsay, founder and Executive Director of Pride Fund. “The vast majority of New Hampshire, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Wisconsin and California residents support common sense gun reforms, and they deserve representation that will fight for the values of American families over those of corporate gun manufacturers.”

With this election, we have an opportunity to start reducing the more than 50,000 incidents of gun violence that take place in our communities every year. Pride Fund is turning anger into action by working to elect candidates who will work to make America safer for everyone.

“I am honored to have the support of the Pride Fund as we work to advance LGBTQ Equality and prevent mass shootings and gun violence from becoming the new normal, ” said Governor Maggie Hassan. “As we were reminded by the horrific attack in Orlando this year, we must continue fighting for inclusiveness and to ensure that all LGBTQ Americans can live free from fear with the full dignity, respect and safety that they deserve. In the Senate, I will fight for commonsense gun safety reforms and to ensure that all of our citizens are fully included in our civic and economic life, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.”
