Pride Fund Endorses Jennifer Foy, Wendy Gooditis, Mark Sickles, Marcus Simon, and Mike Mullin, HD-2, HD-10, HD-43, HD-53 and HD-93

LGBTQ PAC focused on gun reform makes endorsements in Virginia’s House of Delegates Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. August 03, 2017--

Pride Fund to End Gun Violence PAC – America’s only national LGBTQ political organization focused solely on gun violence prevention – announced today its endorsement of Jennifer Foy HD-2, Wendy Gooditis HD-10, Mark Sickles HD-43, Marcus Simon HD-53, and Mike Mullin HD-93 for Virginia’s House of Delegates. Pride Fund endorsed these candidates based on their commitment to championing LGBTQ equality and their support of common sense gun safety reform.

“We support Foy, Gooditis, Sickles, Simon, and Mullin as candidates because of their demonstrated commitment to the shared ideals of so many Americans: equality for all citizens and a work ethic that values the voices of constituents over manipulation by the gun lobby,” said Jason Lindsay, founder and Executive Director of Pride Fund. “The vast majority of Virginia residents support common sense gun reforms, and they deserve representation that will fight for the values of American families over those of corporate gun manufacturers.”

This year in Virginia, we have an opportunity to elect leaders who will take commonsense measures to curb the toll of gun violence in our communities, and who will protect all Virginians regardless of race, gender, sexual identity, or sexual orientation. As of today, Pride Fund has endorsed 17 Democratic candidates in Virginia who support common sense gun reform and champion LGBTQ equality.

Pride Fund has thoroughly reviewed the platforms and records of Foy, Gooditis, Sickles, Simon, and Mullin to assess their commitment to protecting the rights of the LGBTQ community and improving the safety of all Virginians. These candidates represent the kind of leaders we need, who won’t prioritize the special interests of the gun lobby over the safety of the American people.
